GODS LENT CHILD

I'LL LEND YOU FOR A LITTLE WHILE
A CHILD OF MINE GOD SAID
FOR YOU TO LOVE THE WHILE SHE LIVES
AND MOURN FOR WHEN SHE'S DEAD
IT MAY BE SIX OR SEVEN YEARS
OR FORTY TWO OR THREE
BUT WILL YOU TILL I CALL HER BACK,
TAKE CARE OF HER FOR ME

SHE'LL BRING HER CHARMS TO GLADDEN YOU
AND SHOULD HER STAY BE BRIEF
YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE HER MEMORIES
AS A SOLACE FOR YOUR GRIEF
I CANNOT PROMISE SHE WILL STAY
SINCE ALL FROM EARTH RETURN
BUT THERE ARE LESSONS TAUGHT BELOW
I WANT THIS CHILD TO LEARN

I'VE LOOKED THIS WHOLE WORLD OVER
IN MY SEARCH FOR TEACHERS TRUE
AND FROM THE FOLK THAT CROWD LIFES LANE
I HAVE CHOSEN YOU
NOW WILL YOU GIVE HER ALL YOUR LOVE
AND NOT THINK THE LABOUR VAIN
NOR HATE ME WHEN I COME TO TAKE
THIS LENT CHILD HOME AGAIN

I FANCY THAT I HEARD THEM SAY
"DEAR GOD THY WILL BE DONE
FOR ALL THE JOYS THIS CHILD WILL BRING
THE RISK OF GRIEF WE'LL RUN
WE WILL SHELTER HER WITH TENDERNESS
WE WILL LOVE HER WHILE WE MAY
AND FOR ALL THE HAPPINESS WE'LL EVER KNOW
WE WILL EVER GRATEFULL STAY
AND SHOULD THE ANGELS CALL HER
MUCH SOONER THAN WE'D PLANNED
WE WILL BRAVE THE BITTER GRIEF THAT COMES
AND TRY TO UNDERSTAND"

sending my love

I'm sending a dove to heaven
with a parcel on it's wings
Be carefull how you open it
it's full of beautiful things
Inside are a million kisses
wraped up in a million hugs
To say how much you mean to me
and send you all my love

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly fallen snow
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
of beautiful birds in circling flight
I am in the star shine of the night
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved ones gone
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart
For as long as there is memeory
They live on in the heart

Somewhere over a rainbow
Where the skies are forever blue
We have a special angel
Watching over all that we do

Those we love we never lose
For always they will be
Loved,remembered,treasured
Always in our memory

Heather Stonehouse (Sister) March 6, 2009

If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again
No farewells were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why
My heart's still full of sadness
And secret tears still flow
For what it meant to lose you
No-one can ever know
And now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store
Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you'll always stay

in loving memory of paula

when her beautiful spirit left this world, we wept.
as she entered heaven,
trumpets sounded, the angels sang
and all of heaven rejoiced

a prayer of freedom

Paula, into the freedom of the wind and sunshine
we let you go
into the dance of the stars
we let you go
into the wind's breath and the hands of the star maker
we let you go
we love you, we miss you, we want you to be happy
go safely home, dancing through our memories.

A Place In My Heart

Paula you etched a place in my heart that no one can take
Your life on this earth we will not forsake
I miss you today more than yesterday
But tomorrow I will miss you more than today
From the oldest child of seven
To the youngest child in Heaven
